Breed Classification: Terrier

Breed Standards: The Cairn Terrier has a level back, with a deep ribcage. The thighs are muscular and the forelegs should never be turned out at the elbow. The jaw is strong with a perfect scissor bite. The head is small and broad, yet proportional to the body.

History: The Cairn Terrier originated over 500 years ago as a hunting and working dog in the Scottish Highlands. The breed was most dominant in the Isle of Skye and was originally named the Short-Haired Skye Terrier. The name was changed in the early part of the twentieth century to Cairn Terrier.

Fun Facts: The famous Toto from the Wizard of Oz was played by a typical, loving Cairn Terrier named Terry.

Recommendations: Energetic Cairn Terriers will love the edgy look and attitude brought on by the Rebel Spikes Collar.
