| History: | The Afghan Hound originated in Afghanistan and was bred to hunt wolves, deer and hares in mountainous terrain. It is believed that the Afghan is one of the most ancient of modern dog breeds, dating back thousands of years. Afghanistan did not allow the breed out of the country until the turn of the 20th century. British and American aristocracy were quick to adopt the breed as a favourite in the show ring. |
| Fun Facts: | The first dog in history to be cloned was an Afghan Hound named Snuppy. |
| Recommendations: | Elegant Afghan Hounds should be lead on a long lead such as the Buddy Belt Leather & Nylon dog leash. |
